Practice Nurses

Appointments with the practice nurses are all pre-bookable before the day of the appointment.  You can either call in to the surgery to make an appointment or telephone on 01535 273227 between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm.

The practice nurses offer the following services:

• Immunisation and travel services (see Travel Information for details)
• Baby immunisations
• Dietary service
• Ear syringing
• Treatment of injuries
• Injections
• Dressing of wounds
• New patient checks
• Removal of stitches
• General health checks
• Cervical smears

Midwife

As soon as you know you are pregnant you will need to contact a midwife.

Your initial "Booking In" appointment needs to be made at Canal Side Health Care Centre on: 01274 221059.  Subsequent ante-natal appointments here at the surgery should be made with one of our receptionists on 01535 273227 or with the midwife herself.

If you need to contact a midwife urgently you can ring 01535 652511 and ask the receptionist to bleep the midwife

 Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors are here for everyone and can help with ways of staying well and also help you find the services you need. Every child under the age of five years has a Health Visitor. They will visit you at home and you can also be seen at the surgery. Please contact them on 01535 270150 The Health Visiting Team is based at Wilsden and includes:

District Nurses

The District Nurses are based at Wilsden (tel 01535 270152) from where they carry out nursing care in the community, and the team is:

Special Services

We provide many extra services to patients so that we can perform procedures at the surgery which would normally be done in hospital, for example 24 hour blood pressure monitoring.

Our doctors are GP specialists and we have an operating theatre in Wilsden.

In order to book into the clinics, consult one of the doctors or the nurse practitioner.

Minor Surgery Clinic      

Dr Bramwell holds a minor surgery clinic for:

• removal of skin tags
• removal of warts
• biopsy of pigmented lesions

Joint Injections

The doctors can give joint injections for pain relief in cases such as tennis/golfer's elbow and policeman's heel.

Eye Surgery Clinic

Dr Bramwell holds a minor eye surgery clinic at Wilsden, Idle,Westwood Park and Bingley for:

• incision and drainage of cysts
• epilation of eyelashes
• syringing of tear ducts
